Transformation Tuesday

It’s no secret that I’ve developed some healthier habits in the past couple of years…
💪workouts regularly
🍎healthier eating (definitely still enjoy my share of ice cream and pizza!)
🍰A superfood shake everyday that actually tastes like a dessert
👭Having the group support and accountability to maintain these healthier habits!

I’ve known that I’ve felt better. I’ve known that I’ve lost and maintained a good weight. I knew about the gained confidence, feeling stronger, and the new found motivation to be the best version of me. But did I see it?!

As I reflect on another year, I can’t help but smile. It’s funny how you think back and just watch things unfold in front of you and you realize that things happen for a reason.
It was about a year ago that I had my results from my first round of the 21 Day Fix Extreme. I thought “WOW, this really works!”. It was at that moment when I realized that programs like it, challenge groups and coaching could be beneficial to other people and I just wanted to help.
I started coaching for the discount ONLY in May 2015. I did not think that I was worthy to coach or motivate anyone. Why would anyone care what I had to say? I wasn’t a fitness expert, I didn’t always eat healthy and I didn’t want to be a yucky sales person. I decided to dive into some of the team trainings for fun. Well, I soon realized that coaching would be the best thing to get through a deployment and the best thing to keep me on track and accountable. It’s so much more than the products.
I am on a team that does charity work/fundraisers for the poor, they run team calls that are motivating and inspiring, there is a focus on building relationships and strengthening marriages above all, they run spiritual groups and book clubs and it’s about helping people in all aspects of life, not just health and fitness. I am so grateful to be surrounded by such amazing people. When Jeff and I had a date night last week, he said that I’m a different person than I was a year ago. Our marriage is the strongest that it’s ever been even after a deployment. If I would not have been a part of my team, things may have been different. I only wish that I could have all of you on that team right along with me. My only regret is that I didn’t jump on board sooner.
I am so thankful that I pushed fears aside reached out to people, started challenge groups and embraced this journey!
Take risks and step outside of your comfort zone. Everything that you could ever dream of is on the other side of fear.

Baby steps

Last week, I decided to write down 10 goals for the week. I’m reading a book right now by Chalene Johnson called Push. It’s about goal setting and priorities.
We have our hands on the steering wheel and we are in control of where we want to go. Sure, things happen that may throw us off track. If we have a map to guide us, we can find our way!
This is why setting goals AND writing them down is so important. Seeing them everyday gives you that motivation to get it done. Writing down your goals week after week will show you what your priorities are.
I was able to meet 6 of my 10 goals this week. Now I know what I want to work on (and continue to work on) this week!
They don’t have to be major life changing goals….baby steps. goals
Try making a list of 10 goals for the week with at least one of them being health related.
What is one of your goals for this week?

So many times we are focused on a number on the scale. We get frustrated when that number doesn’t budge and it makes us feel that we aren’t making any progress soooo we say “screw it”. We give up after a week…two weeks or a month.
Take a look at your NON-SCALE victories!
How do you feel? Are clothes fitting differently? Are people noticing that you have a better attitude and you are more positive? Do you have more energy to get through your day? Are you gaining confidence? Keep a journal, take pictures throughout this journey or do whatever you need to do to track.
My non-scale victory today? This moment! Ainsley and I were playing and I picked her up and twirled her around. She felt as light as a feather! I felt STRONG! That kind of stuff builds confidence and the determination to continue on this track.
There are so many other victories that we can have besides weight loss. Why? Because it’s not a quick fix! It’s a lifestyle change!
Focus on progress, not perfection and celebrate every small victory!

21 Day Fix results

The 21 Day Fix Extreme….I didn’t think that it would work. I knew that it would keep me eating healthy, but I thought that it would be temporary. I thought that Shakeology was too expensive and that it wouldn’t be worth it. Boy, am I glad that I said “yes!”.

The program, the group support and accountability through coaching is what helped me achieve results that I was proud of for the first time! I stuck with it and it sparked a “lifestyle change” rather than some quick fix.

In 21 days, I transformed the way that I meal plan.  I lost 10 lbs and 13 inches off of my body.  Most importantly, I stuck with this for more than 21 days, I have more confidence, more energy and the desire to continue this path to a healthier me!

Hammer and Chisel results

Hammer and Chisel resultsI love seeing transformation photos of others because I know now that they are so much more than a physical transformation. The best part is what you can’t see.
It’s a sense of accomplishment, a lifestyle change, happier days, more energy, better relationships, more confidence, positivity and hope.
I am so happy to say that I completed the Hammer and Chisel program and LOVED it! If I didn’t have the support of my accountability group, I know that I would have stopped.
My weight remained the same but I lost 2 inches around my hips and 1 inch around my stomach. Since June, I’ve lost 10 pounds and 16 inches and it all started with getting my eating on track. I’m so thankful for the 21 Day Fix, for jumping out of my comfort zone by coaching and for focusing on my “why”.
You CAN get results that you want, but you have to be willing to invest in yourself. Know that you are capable and once you believe that, amazing things will come!

3 Day Refresh Results

I completed the 3 Day Refresh! It was definitely difficult at times, especially when I had to prepare meals for the rest of the family. Thankfully this was a plan that didn’t involve starving myself or drinking crazy things. I got pretty hungry around the time that I was supposed to eat, but the meals satisfied me until the next one rolled around. The most difficult part was cutting out that morning coffee! I know now that I’m a fan of green tea!😂
On wakeup of day 4, I’m down 1 inch on my belly and 1 inch in my hips. More than anything, it’s a sense of accomplishment and no scale victories. I set a goal and was able to complete. The battery on our scale is broken (which I consider a good thing) so I didn’t track my weight. I was glad that I did this over the weekend because I had a lot of things to keep me busy and distracted.
Day 1= hungry, tired, bloated
Day 2= A little tired but not as hungry. Stayed very active throughout the day for a distraction.
By day 3, I felt that I had more energy and I didn’t feel “blah” and bloated anymore after all of that Spring Break splurging!
I’m glad that I did this! Now onto Hammer and Chisel!
